Due to the various materials of the cups, plates, pots and pans, the temperature needed to dry the items needs to be high.  That is why almost all plastics such as Glad reusable, Tupperware, and these plate holders need to be away from the heating element that is used for heating your dishes.<br>Are these plate holders microwaveable safe?<br>A<br>s far as microwaveable safe: I tell everyone that they should test the plastic plate holders for set amount of time in their microwave starting with a low time of 20-30 seconds first.  The reason for that is that there are too many variables and power outputs of the microwaves.  Think of some of your Tupperware or glass and even ceramics how they become warm or even hot to the touch.<br>How sturdy are these plate holders?<br>T<br>hese plate holders are<br>NOT<br>like fine china.  They are meant to add strength to your paper plates.  Remember that you are using paper plates to make clean up easier.
