The vase was produced by the Malta glassworks originally founded by Michael Harris and Eric Dobson in 1968. Harris left Malta in 1972 founding Isle of Wight Glass, Dodson continued the operation until the early 1980's working with local artisans. This vase is dated "06" and was produced during the time frame when Joseph Said and his family members have overseen Mdina. The piece has a striking Modernist design with dimpled ovoid form. The vase is done in a bright shade of red with multicolored ribbons (classic Mdina sea inspired colors) in a woven array. The vase measures 4 ½" high, 4 ½" wide and 3 1/9" (I.D.) at the fire polished top rim. The flat polished base is hand engraved "Mdina" with artist initials. The piece is in excellent / like new condition and retains its original label. This fun Modern design would make a fine addition to your collection of Mdina Malta art glass.<br>Payment<br>Payment must be received within three days following the close of the auction.
