Nakamichi CR-5,3 head cassette deck,serviced,upgraded,Nichicon MUSE caps.

Description

Up for  auction is a Nakamichi CR-5
, 3 head stereo cassette deck. The deck is fully serviced and the following repairs have been done:
- Cleaned the heads and the
pinch rollers.
- Adjusted the playback and record heads for correct height and azimuth.
- De-carbonized the reel motor and replaced the cam motor.
- Changed the belts, adjusted the motor speed, W&F is 0.020% to 0.027%.
- Lubricated the transport mechanism.
- Replaced the old electrolytic caps using new Nichicon MUSE non polar audio caps  in audio circuit section, United (Nippon) Chemicon caps in logic circuit and Nichicon fine gold line in power supply sections.
- Increased the value of the +12V power supply filter cap from 6800uF to 10000uF.
- Increased the value of the -12V power supply filter cap from 1000uF to 2200uF.
- Increased the value of the eight Dolby power supply filter caps from 100uF to 1000uF each.
- Increased the value of the playback amp power supply filter caps from 100uF to 470uF.
- Upgraded the playback/rec/line out op-amps using the OPA2134/OPA2227/LME49720 op-amps respectively installed in gold plated sockets.
- Cleaned the potentiometers using deoxit D5.
- Adjusted all the electronics for correct levels and bias using TDK D/SA/MA tapes.
All the functions are operating as they should be, playback, record, ff, rew, pause, counter, timer, dolby b & c, bias fine tune. The sound and the stereo image are great, the bass is tight, the vocals are very defined, the high frequencies are crystal clear, both in playback and recording modes. The pinch rollers and the heads are in excellent condition, probably the deck has very low hours. The cassette mechanism run smoothly. Externally the deck is in close to mint condition, considering the age. The faceplate is almost excellent, except the left bottom corner (see pictures) and the top cover has no scratches at all. This is a 120V model. S/N 07462, production date 1989. With the deck are included the old parts. All the questions are very welcome.
