Pioneer CT-A7X Cassette Deck, Excellent Condition, Just Serviced

For your consideration, an excellent Pioneer CT-A7X cassette deck, the little brother to the CT-A9X, ready to go to work for you. This machine has a standard type capstan drive system instead of the direct drive primary capstan of the CT-A9X, and a few less features such as auto BLE, real-time remaining tape metering, a bit less resolution for the Fluroscan meters and a bit less frequency response on the top end, 20.5 kHz opposed to 23 kHz. Still, a very capable machine in excellent operating condition. Compared to the same material played back on a CT-A9X, I can hear no difference between the two machines. It sounds great.
This particular machine has been part of an extensive audio equipment collection that I have been accumulated over the past 40 years. I have much more equipment than I will ever use, and I felt that it was time to make some of the pieces that I have available to other folks to use and enjoy. This machine was disassembled, re-belted and re-tired, lubricated, base speed set and the head demagnetized before listing. I removed the cabinet for pictures illustrating the internal condition of the unit. It has no issues.
For a short period of time when these machines were introduced, the Rosewood finished side panels were an option available at additional cost. Later in the run, they came standard with the side panels. This particular machine has never had the side panels installed. The plugs in the threaded panel mounting holes in the cabinet are still installed.
This machine operates and performs flawlessly. All automated functions, indicators and displays operate normally. The face of the unit I would rate as excellent. There are some scrapes on the top edges left and right on the top of the cabinet. Otherwise, normal marking for a machine this age. None of this is visible from the front of the unit and the side panels are in good shape. It is not difficult to repaint the cabinet to remove these imperfections. I have done this in the past with good results.

It will be shipped with a printed copy of the original owner’s manual. If you happen to live near-by, local pick-up is OK and encouraged. If shipped, it will be shipped using USPS, with a packing and shipping cost of USD in the lower 48.

It will be very carefully packed. I will not allow a nice piece like this to be damaged in shipping. You will be surprised and pleased at the process that I use and have used for years to make sure that this unit is protected. It will be insured by me for the amount of the sale.
Buyer must make payment within five business days. I prefer PayPal but also accept bank drafts and direct payment with local pickup. If these conditions are not met, the sale will be voided and the unit re-listed.
