Up for your consideration is a Pioneer Stereo Cassette Deck, model CT-F500.
This model was first sold by Pioneer in 1978 for 5 and was discontinued 2 years later in 1980.
It was manufactured in Japan - NOT China!
The model features an old-school silver-colored front finish, Dolby B noise reduction, analog VU meters, mechanical transport controls with piano-style keys for operation.
My unit here was installed and working in my office but I am downsizing my stereo components so it is being offered here.
It has been stored in a smoke-free home.
I am the second owner - it was passed on to me by my sister many years ago.
About this unit:
The unit powers on and plays and records [see photographs].
All knobs and switches turn with ease.
I replaced the main drive belt last December - the original belt was beginning to slip - the new belt restored the units proper operation.
The two front microphone inputs and the headphone jack were not tested as I no longer have the proper hookups to test them. However, they DID work the last time I used them so I have no reason to doubt they still work today.

The exterior of the unit is in good shape - a few scratches on the top, some light oxidation on the buttons, etc.
The cassette door has 2 small pieces of double-sided tape on the inside along the bottom to hold the lower part of the door against the frame.
No additional accessories are included - just the cassette deck as shown in the photographs. You will need a set of RCA patch cables to connect this to your stereo's tape jacks.
Due to the fact that this is unit is at least 41 years old, I cannot offer any warranties.
Service of some kind may be needed in the future - please keep this in mind before making a buying decision.
I WILL carefully package this item so it arrives to you in the same condition as when it left my home.
